406 MT SPORTS

06mtsports.com is Montana's very first all-sports website, bringing together the resources of Lee Enterprises’ four major daily newspapers: The Billings Gazette, Missoulian, Helena Independent Record, and The Montana Standard in Butte. Our goal is to provide comprehensive coverage of sports across the Treasure State, from one end to the other, covering everything from A to Z (Alder to Zortman). Montana is a vast community connected by long stretches of highways. Events in Ekalaka matter to those in Thompson Falls, Ennis, and Saco. What excites Wolf Point also resonates with residents in Darby, Eureka, and Broadus. While Brock Osweiler hails from Kalispell, Tres Tinkle from Missoula, and Dwan Edwards from Columbus, they all represent Montana, and we take pride in their achievements on a national level. 406mtsports.com is your go-to source for the sports that resonate with Montanans, including the Cats and Griz, the Frontier Conference, MSU Billings, and nearly 200 high schools, ranging from the largest Class AA institutions to the smallest 6-Man football teams. Under the "Extra" section, you'll discover a variety of sports important to the Big Sky region, such as rodeo, running, triathlons, lacrosse, rugby, and cycling, as well as profiles of Montanans—past and present—who have made an impact both on and off the field. On Friday nights, 406mtsports.com is where you can find all the latest scores and results from high school games. Additionally, we offer extensive coverage of the Cats, Griz, Yellowjackets, and our six colleges in the Frontier Conference.

BOZEMAN — A few years ago, Josh Firm got an unexpected promotion. Robert Morris hired Firm to be its running backs coach in 2022. About midway through that season, Colonials head coach Bernard Clark Jr. fired offensive coordinator Eric Gallon during a game. Clark chose Firm to be interim OC. Robert Morris finished that season 0-11, but Clark liked enough of what he saw from Firm to make him full-time OC.

Saturday, senior Abby Clark chases her best men’s basketball impersonation following a 2,933-point Day 1 at the 2025 Trudnowski Open that serves as the Frontier Conference’s championship in the 10-event decathlon and seven-event heptathlon. “I’m a veteran, so I’m trusting I can put together a good multi, still win the conference, and still qualify for nationals, even if I might not be feeling the best on Day 1,” Clark said.
