The Blackpool Gazette, often referred to as The Gazette, is a daily newspaper from Blackpool, Lancashire, in England. It is published every day except for Sundays and focuses on the towns and areas along the Fylde coast. Originally established as The West Lancashire Evening Gazette in 1929, it later changed its name to the Evening Gazette before finally becoming the Blackpool Gazette. The newspaper has its roots in a weekly publication that started in 1873.

    A man ihas climbed onto the roof of a Blackpool town centre building with police negotatos on the scene and nearby road closed. The building is understod to be the Hounfs Hill Centre. Police have just released the following statement. They said; “We are currently responding to an incident in the Victoria Street area of Blackpool. “Shortly after 6am this morning, our officers responded to a report of an assault in Blackpool, and a man was arrested.

    Road closures are currently in place around Blackpool town centre this morning with police responding to an incident. Blackpool Police say road closures are in place from the junctions of Victoria Street and Coronation Street, Leopold Grove and Adelaide Street, Coronation Street junction with Adelaide Street, with Albert Road and Coronation Street. Police have not yet released details about the incident . People are being advised to 'avoid the area'.
