    The Third Annual Arnprior Lions Jail and Bail had more comedy and drama than ever before, as the fundraiser nestled into the Giant Tiger Parking Lot Saturday. 19 offenders were incarcerated, with the goal to see bail funds raised from a supportive audience- the twist being the judge could be legally bribed by hecklers to keep you locked away longer. The money would be used locally for the club’s community activities. The criminals came from all walks of life, including municipal- as in Scott Brum.

The installation explores themes of the lived experience of being a child exposed to communal living, anti-establishmentarianism, self-expression, free love, and mind-altering substances in what some view now as a dysfunctional decade.

    World Environment Week (June 1st to 7th) has come and gone, but the Kitchissippi Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Council of Canadians says there’s still some important local initiatives you can join- or undertake on your own. Although Renfrew County has undertaken to start up a Climate Action Committee, the initiative could still use a little nudge. On the KOC website, under ”Climate Postcard Campaign,” why not pick one and send it along to the good folks at the Upper Tier?
