A man’s body was discovered Sunday afternoon in a backyard pool in East Shoreham, Suffolk police said. The body was found about 4:20 p.m. as the homeowner removed the protective cover from his pool, police said. An autopsy will be conducted by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the identity and cause of death of the victim. The man’s identity and cause of death were not immediately known. Homicide detectives are investigating the man’s death.

Biologist Michael Bottini of Seatuck said he expects coyotes to eventually establish territory across all of Long Island. Over the past decade, the Eastern Coyote has established itself as Long Island’s top land predator — preying on, and competing with, smaller animals such as mice, rats, red foxes and raccoons as it continues to move east. Long Island’s first official coyote was documented in Queens in 2009. In 2016, eight pups were born near LaGuardia Airport.

Flipped fast and priced high, a tiny Bellport ranch just took a tumble on the market. The two-bedroom, one-bath ranch at 533 Bourdois Ave. was purchased Jan. 30 for $230,000 and relisted on March 20 for $489,000, a 113% markup. The owner is now asking $399,000 after being back on the market for nearly two months.
