    Families here in Texarkana are invited to a SUPER-fun, educational event aimed at promoting everyday safety in a hands-on way.     Bowie County Judge Bobby Howell has issued a Disaster Declaration for the county this morning (4/7/25), proclaiming that starting with the storms on April 4, 2025, the county suffered widespread severe damage, injury to property infrastructure, county roads, and rights-of way resulting from severe thunderstorms, high winds and heavy rainfall.     If you follow me then you already know I'm a big fan of Buc-ee's, whenever I get the chance to stop in for some delicious Bar-B-Que and a big 'ol drink, use a clean restroom and grab a bag of Beaver Nuggets, I usually do. But, there's a bonus when I'm down around Katy, Texas, just West of Houston on Interstate10, the worlds longest drive through car wash. So, last weekend the family gathered for my granddaughter Sara's second birthday party, which was great, by the way.

    Texarkana is movin' up in the world with this great news. Texarkana made the MakeMyMove list as one of America's Most Welcoming Places of 2024. This title from MakeMyMove is a national platform that puts remote workers in touch with towns that offer relocation incentives. The hard work by AR-TX-REDI, the City of Texarkana Texas and the Patterson Troike Foundation, the relocation program is paying off. Since its launch, there have already been over 6,800 applications interested in our city.
