MUKWONAGO — A Mukwonago High School automotive teacher who wrote a letter telling the community his job was on the line due to low enrollment numbers has been placed on paid administrative leave for the remainder of the school year, according to a letter from the Mukwonago Area School District to Reed. In April, Ken Reed’s communication addressed to "automotive partners" was circulated on social media in which it cautioned against the program going away.

WAUKESHA — Alfeo "Al" Testolin Jr. would never deny someone who needed help. He had a big heart for the underdog or anyone who had fallen on tough times. As owner of a Waukesha tavern, he heard his fair share of plight. One of his daughters, Mary Hesburgh, remembered how he would help people. "I remember him helping some friends from growing up and classmates. I think some of them were homeless; or just in desperate need for help.

BROOKFIELD — The City of Brookfield Plan Commission approved a proposal from Farmer’s Market To Go, LLC, on behalf of Brookfalls Farmer’s Market, for a temporary use permit for a farmers market to be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sundays at 16900 and 17000 W. Capitol Drive. The market would run from June 1 to Oct. 26. The city approved a similar temporary use permit for the Saturday farmers market at Brookfield Central High School.

WAUKESHA — When a Fond du Lac man’s motorcycle broke down in the Delafield area once, a motorist told him to contact Jim “Klink” Klekoski Jr., who ran Klink’s V-Twin Repair in Waukesha. “Jim said, ‘I’m closing up shop now and coming to get you,’” his longtime partner, Laura Tamez, recalled. They towed the man’s bike to Klekoski’s shop, helped him arrange lodging, and Tamez picked him up the next morning to take him to the shop. “We were a family service,” Tamez said.
