    UConn forward Liam McNeeley was selected by the Phoenix Suns, and then traded to the Charlotte Hornets, with the 29th pick in the first round of the NBA Draft on Wednesday night. McNeeley is the 25th player from UConn to be drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft. McNeeley, who grew up in Richardson, Texas, started his high school career at J.J. Pearce High before transferring to John Paul II (Plano) before finishing at Montverde Academy in Florida.

    It was the hottest night of the year and things came to a boil for the Norwich Sea Unicorns on Tuesday night at Dodd Stadium. The Sea Unicorns’ late-inning comeback attempt against the Vermont Lake Monsters was thwarted by a questionable infield fly rule with the bases loaded and Norwich suffered a frustrating 12-6 loss.       It’s been a rough start for the two-time defending Futures League champions.
