PLAINVILLE — Local author and historian Todd Jones will publish “Plainville, Connecticut: A History” on May 13. The book will be published through Arcadia Publishing. Maddison Potter, senior publicist with Arcadia Publishing, said she is excited to announce its release. “Join local historian Todd Jones as he explores the rich history of this Connecticut town,” she said.

PLAINVILLE — Zion Lutheran Church has donated more than 225 stuffed animals to the Plainville Police Department to give to children to comfort them in times of need. The drop-off was made Tuesday by Michelle Gladue, Zion Christina Welfare chair at the church. The parishioners of the church donated the stuffed animals. “Officers will use them to help comfort children in a time of need,” the Plainville Police Department said.

PLAINVILLE — The Town of Plainville has announced its street paving schedule, which began Thursday. “Milling operations are scheduled to begin on or around April 10, with paving to follow during the week of April 14,” the town said. The work is weather dependent. The town said they “appreciate residents’ patience” during “this important infrastructure improvement project.”The following roads are scheduled for this year: Redstone Hill to Townline Road; Pierce Street from Broad Street to W.
