Crews will soon break ground on the Fertitta Family Firearms Training Facility, at 17000 Aldine Westfield, near George Bush International Airport, officials said. It will be ready in early 2026.

An Angleton Police sergeant died in the line of duty Sunday after being struck by a vehicle, the agency said. Sgt. J.D. White died June 1 after being hit by a vehicle while escorting a funeral procession, a news release by the agency said. He was taken to a Houston-area hospital by LifeFlight in critical condition later succumbed to his injuries, the release states.
