A 9th inning solo home run by Elly De La Cruz is all the team could manage and while it sent the game into extras the White Sox scored four runs in the 10th to put the game away in a 5-1 win.

    The Cincinnati Reds return home this week. After having an off day on Monday, they hit the field tonight to begin a 3-game series with the 12-29 White Sox. Chicago is coming off of a series win over the Marlins, while the Reds are returning to Great American Ball Park after a series loss in Houston. Tonight’s first pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm ET if the weather cooperates. Update: The game is now expected to start at 8:25pm ET.

    The word permanent has a meaning. But apparently that meaning doesn’t actually mean that to Rob Manfred, who today reinstated Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe Jackson, and others from Major League Baseball’s permanently ineligible list, which was first reported by Don Van Natta Jr. of ESPN. Both players landed on the list as a result of betting on baseball games that they were involved in. It appears that Rob Manfred has removed everyone from the permanently ineligible list who has passed away.

    A year ago Rhett Lowder was in Dayton as a part of the Dayton Dragons. On Sunday he was with them again, but this time it was on a rehab appearance after reaching the big leagues last season and then beginning this year on the injured list with a forearm strain. This time around for Rhett Lowder didn’t go as well as any of his starts with the Dragons in 2024. A dropped catch by the first baseman began the inning.
