From September 2023 through to December 2024, 5,695 herds nationally were subject to restriction due to bovine tuberculosis (TB), compared to 4,885 in the previous 12-month period. Co Wicklow saw by far the highest herd incidence rates nationally, with 12.02pc in the east of the county and 16.81pc in the west of the county.

National Voter Registration Day takes place on Wednesday, April 30, with Wicklow events in Arklow, Blessington and Baltinglass, running from 10am to 1pm. The Arklow venue is the AFETC Centre, Fernhill Plaza, run by the Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board.
