San Luis Obispo Tribune

San Luis Obispo Tribune

The Tribune is a daily broadsheet newspaper that serves the San Luis Obispo County area in California. It was established in 1939 through the merger of three newspapers that were originally founded between 1869 and 1905. The E. W. Scripps Company later purchased the paper. In 1997, Scripps exchanged The Tribune and The Monterey County Herald for the Boulder Daily Camera with Knight Ridder. On June 27, 2006, the McClatchy Company took ownership of the paper after acquiring Knight Ridder, which was the second-largest daily newspaper chain in the United States at that time.
