    SIDNEY — On Tuesday, Scott Barr ended his career as an umpire in the same location it started in 1989, at Custenborder Field. Barr’s last game was spent officiating over Sidney Legion Post 217’s 6-5 defeat of Springfield Armoloy. It was a down-to-the-wire game that ended in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run hit by Preston Hinkle. After 36 years, Barr wanted to leave when he was still healthy. “I think it’s helped me stay young. I still move around the field really well,” Barr said.
