SPEED SPORT

National Speed Sport News is frequently referred to as “The bible of Motorsports.” Established in 1934, during the rise of midget car racing in the United States, it has served as a key source for authoritative race coverage that is both prompt and engaging. Notably, it is the sole auto-racing publication accessible on microfilm at the Library of Congress. In 2012, under new ownership, SPEED SPORT was reintroduced as a monthly magazine along with a revamped website, all while staying committed to the foundational values and high standards set by its original founder.

It was the Andretti Global driver’s fist pole since Toronto in 2024. It was Herta’s 15th career IndyCar pole. “It was such an unknown and we were not really strong on the softer tires but the guys did a great job overnight,” Herta said.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — There’s little that motivates a race car driver more than finishing second. Last August Michael “Buddy” Kofoid led the opening 18 laps at River Cities Speedway with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. But a pivotal restart cost him the top spot and ultimately the victory as he and Roth Motorsports settled for second. Fast forward nine months, and Kofoid’s role was reversed at the Gerdau Metals Recycling presents the Don Mack Classic. He was the one chasing.

DETROIT — With the 109th Indianapolis 500 complete and Alex Palou continuing his historic streak of success, it’s time for IndyCar to turn the page and get on with the rest of the 2025 season.
