Hiring by private employers slowed in May to its lowest level since March 2023, according to the ADP National Employment Report. Private employment rose by just 37,000 jobs, said the report, which was released today. “After a strong start to the year, hiring is losing momentum,” ADP Chief Economist Nela Richardson said in a press release. In comparison, the US added 60,000 jobs in April, according to the report. However, that was revised down from the initially reported 62,000.
