Defense attorney John Leonard requested an adjournment as they go through discovery and wait on an additional piece. When asked what happened to bring another tornado to Mohawk Valley, NWS Meteorologist Ben Lott said it was caused by a convective system that dropped in from the north. The tornado’s wind speeds are estimated to have been around 105 mph. In the National Weather Service’s report, scattered tree damage along the line of thunderstorms was around 70 mph. The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in Clark Mills June 22 and killed three people.
