    The Warren Zoning Board, at its Wednesday night, April 16 meeting, approved a special use permit which should soon likely allow a company engaged in boat repair and service to soon occupy the former East Bay Educational Collaborative building on Route 136. Still, that was good enough for the brave souls who came out for the first day of fishing season. Saturday marked the first official day of trout fishing season in Rhode Island, and Adamsville Pond, which is bisected by the Rhode Island/Massachusetts border, saw more than few hearty anglers Saturday morning.

Hope High School baseball team went countertrend in the early going of its 2025 Division I regular season en route to picking up its first league of the spring, 9-5, over host Pilgrim in Warwick Wednesday afternoon, April 16. The Huskies, who have had a hard time of holding early leads to date, found themselves down, 3-0, after one inning. Wednesday, though, the locals answered with one in the top of the second then exploded for five runs in the fourth to take the lead for keeps.

    As part of its regularly scheduled meeting for the month, April 8, the town council, led by Vice President Keri Cronin, along with Warren Police Department Chief Roy Borges, oversaw a promotion/swearing-in ceremony for a handful of officers. WPD Lieutenant Christopher Perrault served as the event's master of ceremonies, introducing each of his fellow officers noted during the evening. Cronin confirmed the new status of each officer.
