A vanilla flavored cake continues to cause strong opinions in Bristol County. The Old Grist Mill Tavern at 390 Fall River Avenue in Seekonk and The Tipsy Toboggan at 75 Ferry St Fall River (both owned by Red Oak Hospitality), took to social media Friday to announce the return of the rainbow pride cake to celebrate love the entire month of June for the third year in a row. The cake contains vanilla cream frosting and pearled vanilla candy whipped cream.

A Fall River animal shelter has taken in over a half dozen puppies due to poor living conditions and soon they can be yours. On Friday, May 23rd, New Bedford Police Officer Daniel Duclos responded to Belleville Road to assist Animal Control after receiving a tip that puppies were being housed inside a vehicle. Duclos and Animal Control Officer Manny Maciel located 8 six-week-old puppies inside the vehicle with the inside covered in feces. No water or food for the animals could be found.

Massachusetts State Police and Fall River personnel responded to a serious highway crash in Fall River on Saturday. At 6:00 p.m., a call came into dispatch for a rollover crash right after exit 8 on Route 24 North. Upon arrival, crews discovered that there was no entrapment, and the occupants had self-extricated from the vehicle. At least two people were transported to area hospitals and 4 ambulances were called to the scene. The crash is under investigation.

A peaceful protest has been announced as news spreads that a Massachusetts high school student has been detained by ICE. According to WCVB, a Milford High School student was detained by ICE agents off-campus, according to a statement from school officials, who did not specify the location of the incident. “We are deeply troubled by this news, as well as the recent detentions of several parents by ICE in our community,” wrote Milford Superintendent Kevin McIntyre.
