KITTERY, Maine — A man considering jumping off the Piscataqua River Bridge June 6 was safely talked down by a Kittery police officer, moments after the same man was involved in a car crash on the Interstate 95 span, according to police. Local and state authorities were called to the high-level bridge just prior to 9:15 a.m. to respond to a two-car collision, then received a call regarding the man who appeared to be suicidal, straddling the bridge railing.

In May, the NH House Children and Family Law Committee approved an amended version of SB 72 that included language giving parents much more control over their children’s health care. Democrats and advocates like Planned Parenthood of Northern New England warned that the amended version of the bill would take away the ability for minors to get confidential birth control. A floor amendment that removed those stipulations passed 215 to 166, and the whole bill passed 214 to 167.
