    DOVER — New Hampshire State Trooper Colin Burgess fired five shots at Moriah Infinjer, 28, after a 100 mph pursuit on the Spaulding Turnpike early Sunday morning, according to an investigation conducted by state police. Infinjer had exited her vehicle and assumed a "shooter's stance" and with a dark object in her hands, according to an affidavit filed in court by State Trooper Tyler Dodds. He alleges Infinjer shouted "No!" when Burgess yelled to her to drop the object.

    PORTSMOUTH — A man with strong Portsmouth ties, Jim Miller, plans to run his 300th marathon when the Boston Marathon takes place on Monday, April 21. Miller, 72, a graduate of Portsmouth High School and the University of New Hampshire runs in memory of his father, and to raise money for the American Liver Association. He estimates he has raised about $175,000 for the ALF. "I will be 73 in June, and this is important to me," said Miller, who lives in Florida.

    SOMERSWORTH — Dogs at large will no longer be allowed in the city. The City Council has approved its first dog leash ordinance. Mayor Matt Gerding said the council voted to approve a leash law and set fines for violations. "Dogs must be on leashes whenever they are in public spaces," he said. "The fines will be not less than $100 and up to $1,000 depending on the situation and the number of violations."Dogs still can run off leash in the city's dog park and their own yards.

    Seton Academy, a private Catholic school currently operating in Rochester, is planning to relocate to Somersworth. The school has signed a purchase and sales agreement for the former Pinewood Medical Center on Route 108. Seton Academy, which opened in 2022, aims to occupy the new building by the 2025-2026 school year and eventually expand to offer a full high school curriculum.
