The Savannah Challenger, the Coastal Empire’s premier annual tennis tournament, is set to kick off its 15th year this Sunday at The Landings. Crews have been hard at work transforming the venue into a world-class stage for the event, which attracts some of the top tennis talent from around the globe. Since early Monday, grounds crews and tournament staff started transforming The Landings from the already beautiful scenery, to a battleground on the courts.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) says there's a surge in mail thefts since early March, with over a dozen checks reported stolen and cashed. Officials describe this as a recurring issue, with 21 forgery incidents reported in 2025 so far, many involving stolen checks. Lt. Eric Calendine of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office explained how criminals target mailboxes, including blue postal boxes, to steal checks.

The ongoing uncertainty surrounding nationwide tariffs has caused fluctuations in the stock market, but Ford is taking a proactive approach to support American consumers. President Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause on many tariffs Wednesday, which caused markets to fluctuate. Residents of the Hope Creek community in Bryan County are raising concerns about persistent dirty water problems that they say have disrupted their lives. The small neighborhood, located off Highway 17 near Richmond Hill, is home to nearly three dozen homes, whose water is supplied by Water Utility Management, a private water company based in Savannah. Longtime residents say the issue has worsened in recent weeks.
