The best chance for showers in the morning will be to the north near the Wisconsin Stateline. Additional widely scattered storms are in the forecast closer to Chicago in the afternoon and evening.

Storm threat Thursday night, Friday evening in Chicago Conditions will be partly cloudy Wednesday night with lows in the low 40s. A few showers will be possible on Thursday afternoon, with milder highs in the low to mid 60s. Strong south winds will develop on Thursday, gusting to 35 miles per hour at times. There is a chance for strong storms Thursday night. Storms that do develop Thursday night could produce gusty winds and small hail.

Windy, warm in Chicago area The Chicago area will have a mostly clear evening with breezy and mild temps in the upper 50s and low 60s, followed by partial clouds overnight. Scattered showers for Saturday, with a few rumbles of thunder possible. No severe weather is expected. Highs will be in the low 70s, then some much colder air will push in during the mid-afternoon off of Lake Michigan, especially for areas from Chicago northward.

With the severe weather threat having ended across the Chicago area, attention turns to snow overnight that will make for a slippery morning commute. Wet snow showers will increase after midnight and become widespread overnight. Snow showers may linger through 8 a.m., especially for Northwest Indiana.
