The Bellingham Herald has compared prices at local grocery stores to help you make your dollars stretch the most. We compared the prices of milk, bread, cereal, eggs and chicken breasts. Here were local grocery prices on June 3:▪ A gallon of Fred Meyer's 1% milk is $3.19, the same price last month. ▪ A gallon of Safeway's Value Corner 1% milk is $3.49, down from $3.79 last month. ▪ A gallon of Walmart's Great Value 1% milk is $3.36, down from $3.42 as last month.

Bellingham's newest brewery is officially opening Friday, June 6. Stemma Brewing Co., a family-owned brewery based in Bellingham, is expanding to open its second brewery and taproom in Bellingham. The company has taken over the location of Twin Sister's Brewery and is making changes to the well known brewery, taproom, restaurant and beer garden since purchasing the space in January.

Doc Swinson's, a Whatcom County-based distillery known for its award-winning whiskey, is opening a tasting room this month and inviting guests to peek behind the scenes.
