HAMLIN — Lincoln County Community Outreach Program received $14,000 and McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church received $10,000 from the Pallottine Foundation of Huntington. LCCOP’s outreach team in Hamlin will visit areas of Lincoln County where people are experiencing homelessness and substance use disorder. Team members will engage in conversation and provide blessing bag supplies, including nonperishable food, hygiene items, blankets, and other essentials.

HAMLIN — A family of eight, with one on the way, lost their home on Thursday night, May 27, due to a fire. James and Misty Hager along with their six children all made it out but the home located on Mansion Street in Hamlin was deemed a partial loss. WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, issued the following statement after the Senate passed her joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act to repeal California’s EV mandate through their “Advanced Clean Cars II” regulation that prohibits the sale of new gas-powered light-duty vehicles by 2035. Chairman Capito introduced the CRA last month and pledged to end the EV mandate in December 2024.
