The Ford, decked out in full Specsavers livery, was seen treating the parking bay lines at Longwater Retail Park as more of a suggestion than a rule. The irony? Painfully obvious.

A busy road on the outskirts of the city has closed today for the next three weeks. Major gas works have begun on Longwater Lane in Costessey, causing a full road closure until March 14. Cadent, the gas distribution firm, has been granted a permit by Norfolk County Council to replace aging gas pipes with more durable plastic ones. The work, initially scheduled for January 6, was postponed due to concerns over clashes with other roadworks in the area.
