Good Monday morning Caps fans, hope you all are having a good start to the week. It is a holiday down here in the States so I’ll try not to rub in the long weekend vibes. Well, this team certainly isn’t boring, huh? While the Austin match might have left a lot to be desired, Vancouver reminded everyone of their firepower on Saturday night against RSL. When the home side bagged two goals early off of poor defensive mistakes, I was starting to catastrophize given the recent form.

The Whitecaps saved all of their fireworks for late on Saturday night, turning around a discouraging start with a 90th minute banger from Pedro Vite. It looked like a long night after Vancouver shipped two goals in the first 10 minutes. Instead, they clawed back into things by half time and should have been well clear of RSL, even before Vite’s winner. A chaotic match leaves plenty to digest and some defensive errors contrasted with plenty of standout performers.

Good Friday morning Caps fans, hope you all are having a good week and that you are ready for a well-deserved break. The trip to Winnipeg in the midweek was a bit more of an adventure than initially anticipated and full credit to Valour, who dug deep to grind out a 2-2 draw at home against the Caps. It is pretty wild to live in a world in which Valour performed better against Vancouver than Lionel Messi did but here we are.

Valour held the Whitecaps to a disappointing 2-2 draw in Winnipeg, spoiling Vancouver's defense with a spirited display that will leave things all to play for at BC Place. Vancouver had ample chances to put the tie away but some grit, good fortune and a great strike from Valour's Bruno Figueiredo kept them in it, despite a disappointing start to their Canadian Premier League campaign.
