Heartbroken friends and family have remembered Huddersfield mum Jane Riddell as a kind woman who loved her grandchildren and was a good neighbour and friend. Jane, whose death aged 61 in February is being treated as suspected murder, was a much-loved Huddersfield mum and grandma. She found dead at a home in Greenlea Court in Dalton, Huddersfield, on February 3. The body of her son, Lee Scott Riddell, 35, was also found in the property.

A couple has launched a £50,000 online appeal to help pay for a comprehensive revamp of their much-loved café and children's play space. Lucy and Tim, who run the family-friendly Acorn & Pip in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, say the current kitchen set up is too basic and is 'falling apart' while the play area has started to look tired. They have explored the traditional funding options but say none of them are available, so they decided to launch a Crowdfunding campaign.

Police are investigating Jane Riddell’s death as murder, but they do not believe her son Lee's death is suspicious. A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a beloved grandmother who was found deceased alongside her son at their home. Jane Riddell, 61, was discovered on February 3 at a property in Greenlea Court, Dalton, Huddersfield. Her son, 35-year-old Lee Scott Riddell, was also found dead at the scene, reports YorkshireLive.

Bosses at a Huddersfield textile firm are working to ensure the firm remains viable and afloat. Family-owned yarn manufacturer Spectrum Yarns in New Street, Slaithwaite has confirmed it is in a 'consultation period' and that work is taking place to keep the business going and ensure it was 'viable'. Company director Danielle Brown has issued a statement to clarify the current situation after YorkshireLive was told by a source that around 100 jobs were at risk.
