A Huddersfield road has been closed after a car overturned onto its roof. Images of the scene show a large number of West Yorkshire Police officers in Newsome Road in Huddersfield. It is understood they have been on the scene since around 4.30pm on Wednesday, May 14. The closure is near to Tunnicliffe Road and just below Dawson Road. There, a car can be seen turned onto its roof. A second car has also sustained damage at the scene of the crash.

A police officer is due to face a misconduct hearing over alleged homophobic and offensive comments he made to colleagues. Detective Sergeant Lee Armstrong, who is based in Leeds, is facing a misconduct panel on May 20-23 at West Yorkshire Police headquarters in Wakefield over comments he is said to have made while on duty.
