Several businesses have closed their doors for the day following a burst water main on a major road in Holmfirth. The businesses include local cafes and fish and chip shops. They reported having no water access due to the burst pipe. The National VIPER Bureau is based in West Yorkshire and provides ID parade photos for more than 20 UK police forces. The 'photo booth' team travels across the country taking pictures of volunteers to be used for ID parades.

A young man was tragically found dead on the tracks at a Huddersfield railway station yesterday, police have confirmed. Paramedics and police were called to Deighton railway station on Tuesday morning at around 10.30am. The man who died was in his 20s. British Transport Police said the man's death was not being treated as suspicious.

Pupils at a Huddersfield school behave 'exceptionally well' and the help given to pupils new to the country is 'exemplary', according to Ofsted. Birkby Infant and Nursery School, which was judged to be Outstanding at a previous inspection, has been praised by inspectors who visited Birkby on April 23 and 24 this year. Ofsted said the school had taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection.

Schoolgirl Nobantu 'Mandy' Zani was just 15 years old when she was tragically found dead in horrific circumstances in September 1995. Mandy, described as bubbly and gregarious, was found with her chiffon scarf tied around her neck. It was suspected that she may have been strangled. Her decomposed body was discovered by a walker at a beauty spot known as Druid's Altar in the St Ives area of Bingley, near Bradford. It had been dumped and then covered with branches beside an outcrop of rock.
