A new vineyard has opened to visitors with the aim of becoming a tourist destination for wine lovers. Helme Edge Vineyard at Meltham, Huddersfield, is run by three generations of the same family and is set over 3.2 acres of land. It is billed as being a small 'boutique vineyard'. It opened to visitors earlier this month and was established by Alan Calder, his daughter Fiona Smith and her son Tom Smith.

Located in the foothills of the South Pennines and easily accessible from Yorkshire via the M62, Hollingworth Lake is a 118-acre man-made reservoir that became a tourist hotspot in the 1860s.
