The first Mass was held at 7 a.m.Holy Name will hold a memorial Mass on Wednesday. Cardinal Blase Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, will preside over the mass at 10 a.m. The Nass is open to the public. No tickets are required. The mass will also be live stream on the cathedral’s YouTube site.

    CHICAGO — Police are investigating after two restaurants were broken into early Tuesday morning in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. According to police, officers responded to a call in the 1500 block of West Chicago around 3 a.m. and found the front door of a Fry the Coop smashed. Money was missing from the register. The owner, Joe Fontana, said there was significant damage with broken windows and glass and a broken entry. “They broke two windows, crawled in and grabbed the cash drawer,” he said.

    Christina Formella, 30, was taken into custody Sunday. She is a special education teacher and soccer coach at Downers Grove South High School in Downers Grove. An investigation began on Saturday after a boy, who was 15-years-old at the time, went to the police station with his mother to report alleged sexual contact committed by Formella. She was his soccer coach and tutor at the time, according to police.

    NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The identity of a man killed in a house fire in Naperville this week has been released. The Will County coroner identified the man as 75-year-old Krishna Emmadi. When crews arrived, they found heavy fire on the first and second floors and were told someone was trapped on the second floor. Despite the efforts of firefighters, who had to battle significant smoke and extreme cold outside, crews were unable to rescue the trapped man.
