CHICAGO — Chicago’s Catholic community is joining those around the world mourning the loss of Pope Francis. People gathered at Chicago’s Holy Name Cathedral Monday morning. The first Mass was held at 7 a.m.Holy Name will hold a memorial Mass on Wednesday. Cardinal Blase Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, will preside over the mass at 10 a.m. The Nass is open to the public. No tickets are required. The mass will also be live stream on the cathedral’s YouTube site.

CHICAGO (WGN) — A 13-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after he was shot inside a Chicago Transit Authority Red Line train on the city’s South Side. According to Chicago police, the shooting unfolded inside of a train car as it approached the Garfield stop in the 200 block of West Garfield Boulevard in Fuller Park around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officers said the boy suffered a gunshot wound to his buttocks and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious condition.

A 56-year-old man shot while inside his vehicle. He was rushed to Mt. Sinai with a gunshot wound to the neck. He is listed as critical. After he was shot, he drove off and struck a pole. Police blocked off the bridge near Harrison and South Independence https://t.co/PAQkY9xjPk
