    CHICAGO (WGN) — A little girl is recovering in the hospital on Wednesday morning after she was shot on the city’s South Side overnight. Chicago police say the gunfire erupted just before 10 p.m. after an argument broke out between the child’s family and the occupants of a white SUV in the 3000 block of South State Street in Douglas. Officers said the victim, an 8-year-old girl, was in a vehicle with family members when they got into an argument with the occupants of a nearby white SUV.

    DOLTON, Ill. (WGN) — A deadly crash involving a motorcyclist along the Bishop Ford Freeway caused some road closures early Tuesday morning. The crash unfolded just before 3 a.m. in the outbound lanes of the Bishop Ford Freeway near Sibley Boulevard, near the border of Calumet City and Dolton, according to Illinois State Police troopers. A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling along I-94 when they struck a vehicle.

Chicago police say 27-year-old Jaylin Arnold, an Avalon Park resident, has been charged with one felony count of armed violence, three felony counts of possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender and one felony drug charge.
