Local authorities said just before 10:45 a.m. Sunday, officers were sent to an apartment complex in Northlake, Illinois, for reports of an unconscious woman who was not breathing. When officers arrived, they said they found the woman - identified as 43-year-old Elizabeth Peralta-Guadalupe - severely beaten with no signs of life.

Police said the incident happened just after 5 p.m. in a St. Charles neighborhood. First responders arrived at the scene and immediately rendered aid to the child before taking him to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, according to investigators. No other information was released.

CHICAGO (WGN) — A Chicago man accused of firing shots at pedestrians while hiding under a sidewalk grate in the Loop is set to make a court appearance on Wednesday. Chicago police say 34-year-old Rayvon Savary, an Auburn Gresham resident, has been charged with one felony count of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one felony count of aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon.
