CHICAGO — The fourth annual Bank of America Chicago 13.1 is underway Sunday morning, with about 10,000 runners weaving throughout the city’s West Side. The half-marathon began and will end in Garfield Park, with the course taking runners through the historic parks and boulevards of the West Side in between, including scenic loops through Humboldt and Douglass Parks. The event concludes with a race-day festival at Garfield Park late Sunday morning.

CHICAGO (WGN) — A suspect is dead and a Chicago police officer is recovering in the hospital after a foot chase ended in a shooting on the West Side overnight. A preliminary report by Chicago police indicates that the incident began just after 10:30 p.m. when officers attempted to conduct an investigatory stop on the suspect in an alley in the 4300 block of West North Avenue in Humboldt Park.

CHICAGO (WGN) — Seven people, including two police officers, were taken to the hospital following a crash late Sunday night on Chicago’s West Side. According to police, a marked CPD squad car with its lights and sirens on, was traveling southbound on Cicero Avenue around 11 p.m. The squad car struck a Hyundai sedan in the 400 block of South Cicero Avenue. After the initial crash, the squad car then struck another car that was traveling northbound on Cicero.
