Housing is another problem Memphis faces: not enough housing, people unable to afford a home, and problem properties not in livable conditions. Attorney John Keith Perry represented Tadarrius Bean during the nine-day trial. Bean, Justin Smith, and Demetrius Haley were acquitted of all charges stemming from the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman who was celebrating her college graduation was critically injured after she fell from an excursion boat during a trip to the Bahamas. On May 3, Hannah Smith, 22, an Overton High School graduate from Memphis walked across the Miles College graduation stage as Summa Cum Laude for her Communications degree. “We all met at the graduation, all you know, cheered and screamed her name as she walked across the stage,” said her father, Marvin Smith.
