    DICKINSON — The Stark County Commission addressed a budget issue regarding funding for the South Heart Fire Department during a meeting November 7.Pat Kuylen of the South Heart Fire Departmenttold the commission he missed the deadline to submit the fire department’s budget and was hoping to remedy the situation. Stark County Auditor Karen Richardexplained that entities receiving county funding must turn in a preliminary budget, otherwise she uses the previous year’s information to levy taxes.

Signatures on petitions filed against Mayor Scott Decker and Commissioner John Odermann failed to meet the required threshold outlined in North Dakota Century Code.

Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson. Father Ryan Martire will celebrate the Mass.

Monsignor Thomas Richter will celebrate the Mass.

    Georgianna “Georgie” Magdalen Campbell, 89, formerly of Dickinson, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck. She was surrounded with an abundance of love as the gates of heaven opened and welcomed her for eternal life. Georgie was one-of-a-kind. She will be long remembered for her positive outlook on life even during the most challenging times. She instilled this resilience in her daughters and those around her.
