DEEP EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - The clear skies, dry air, and virtually calm winds will lead to another chilly night with overnight lows in the middle 40′s. Wednesday will be sunny and pleasant with southerly breezes and highs in the upper 70′s. A ridge of high pressure will dominate our weather landscape this week, keeping the main storm track well north of Texas. This will lead to an extended stretch of sunny, dry conditions across our part of the state.

DEEP EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - We will have a 30% chance of late night showers and thunderstorms across the Piney Woods. Many of us will miss out on the thunderstorms tonight with the majority of the severe weather just looming north of deep east Texas. By the time we transition toward Saturday, however, the parent, slow-moving storm system to our west will finally get a move on and that is when our thunderstorm odds start to ramp up across deep east Texas.

DEEP EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - It will remain rather windy through Friday as strong low pressure to our north will lead to a large pressure gradient, thereby, creating those strong, gusty, southerly winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up around 30 mph at times through Friday. A stalled out frontal boundary will serve as a focal point for repeated rounds of heavy thunderstorms and possible flooding rains in north and northeast Texas for the next 48 hours.

The San Augustine Heritage Festival will be hopping tomorrow in historic downtown San Augustine. There will be a pancake breakfast, petting zoo, arts and crafts, and a kids scavenger hunt. This event runs from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. Remember to apply that sunscreen. #etxwx https://t.co/rMgbYBbEgF

It is one of the few times a year where I can take my dinner break out to the Pavilion at our KTRE studios. It feels amazing with the mild temperatures, calm winds, and low humidity. #etxwx https://t.co/byugoS0Bzq
