    ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The City of Rochester is using funds from opioid settlement payments to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction through its ambassador program. Ambassadors, who were previously addicted to opioids themselves, are now being paid $15 an hour for up to two hours a day to clean up neighborhoods and connect with people on the streets who are struggling with addiction.

    GREECE, N.Y. – A 10-year-old student with special needs was kicked out of a suburban school after the Greece Central School District discovered his mother had a lease in the City of Rochester. Brandi Napolitano, Jovanni Byrd’s maternal grandmother, believes the school district removed her grandson not because of where he lives, but because of what the school district said he did. “He lives right here in this home with me with my daughter, my husband and his brother,” said Brandi Napolitano.

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Malik Breedlove faced arraignment Tuesday morning on kidnapping charges. Breedlove is accused of abducting his five-year-old child at gunpoint early Monday morning. According to police, he arrived at the child’s home on Fifth Street and forced his way inside. Officers quickly located Breedlove and the child near Central Park and Niagara Street. Upon arrest, police reportedly found a loaded gun in Breedlove’s possession.
