    Twizel-based police reported three ice-related incidents on roads in the area last week, including one vehicle rolling on ice and another rear-ending a grit truck on a closed road. A police spokesperson said a visitor from China was issued with a warning for careless driving after they rear-ended a grit truck on State Highway 8 (Tekapo-Twizel Rd) near Lake Tekapo Airport. The road was closed at the time of the low-impact crash with snow and ice blanketing much of the Mackenzie District.
