He graduates this summer with a degree in Business Management!Toby Wilt of Fort Worth has won the 116th Texas Amateur presented by Hytera US at Ridgewood Country Club. Wilt finished 12-under par, claiming the title by two strokes.

    COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) - Firefighters with the Copperas Cove Fire Department responded to a late-night fire Monday at First Baptist Church, located in the 300 block of West Avenue B. The fire broke out around 10:07 p.m. in the foyer of the church’s main building. Crews arrived quickly and were able to make entry and extinguish the flames before the fire spread beyond the immediate area. According to officials, the fire was isolated to the foyer, but smoke damage affected nearby areas.

This prestigious award recognizes students with strong ACT or SAT scores who are also active in public service. Way to go, Emma!Central Texas College Police Chief Carrie Ellis has completed Advanced Alert Level 1 Training. It is designed to help first responders handle active threats.

    WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Congratulations to the class of 2025. I wanted to share pictures from the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce’s Scholarship dinner for the Lead Mentoring Program. Local businesses came together and gave out a record-breaking $95,000 to these amazing future, education, medical, engineering, and aviation professionals. The largest scholarship was worth $20,000. Tuesday night was all about celebrating success. Alpha Kappa Alpha in Waco gave scholarships to 6 hardworking seniors.

    ROBERTSON COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - A lightning strike ignited a fire in a homeowner’s attic off Highway 79 between Hearne and Franklin. Bremond Fire was called out to assist multiple Robertson County Volunteer Fire Departments in battling the fire. The fire started after lightning struck the house, quickly spreading through the attic. Firefighters from Bremond, Blackjack, Hearne, Franklin, and Calvert worked together to control the flames and manage logistics at the scene.
