VILLAGE OF COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (WMTV) - The family of a woman who died in a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in Cottage Grove identified her on Tuesday afternoon. Dr. Kami Hansen, a Cottage Grove chiropractor, was walking her dog with her son when a car went off the road and hit them. Dr. Hansen, her son and the driver were rushed to the hospital. She died from her injuries at the hospital. The family dog was killed. Dr. Hansen was a mom to three boys, a wife, a friend and a chiropractor.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Yada Fair Trade and Resale Boutique hosted their annual survivor led fashion show to raise awareness on human trafficking while providing support for women. Survivors of human trafficking were able to express themselves through clothing and community. A survivor who helped put the show together is Crystal Moore. She spent the day getting her hair done and organizing clothes. Moore walked the runway and shared some of her journey with the audience.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Wisconsin leaders and lawmakers went to Reach Dane to discuss the impact of the president’s proposed elimination of Head Start funding on Friday. More than 15,000 children in Wisconsin are at risk of losing Head Start programming, with over 11,000 of those children losing access to full-time child care. Head Start is a program that focuses on promoting school readiness through positive social and educational skill development.

Pragnya Vella serves as the National North Central Region Vice President for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Vella is a part of the largest business career & technical student organization in the world. FBLA helps more than 200,000 middle school, high school, and college students prepare for careers in business. She is the liaison between the members and national members.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Wisconsin lawmakers held a public hearing to talk about a bill that would create new penalties for the crime of sextortion. This comes after a 15-year-old victim of sextortion took his own life in March. The Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety discussed Assembly Bill 201, more commonly known as Bradyn’s Law. It is named after Bradyn Bohn. He was a student in the D.C. Everest Area School District.
