The City of Williston Commission recently appointed law enforcement veteran Steven Gutknecht as the new Chief of Police. The position was vacated after former Police Chief David Peterson accepted an early retirement incentive from the City.
Williston group heads to Guatemala to help the poor

In a couple of weeks, 11 area residents will pack up and head to Guatemala on a 10-day trip to help the less fortunate. Partnering with God's Child, a project founded in 1991 to "help orphaned and impoverished children break the cycle of poverty...", Father Bruce Krebs (retired) and Father Paul Eberle, of Williston's St. Joseph's Catholic Church, will lead the community members in Guatemala over the 10-days with building a home, helping at the school, hospital and the orphanage.

The City of Tioga Commissioners held its regular meeting Monday, June 2. TIOGA - The City of Tioga held it's regular commission meeting on Monday, May 19 at City Hall. The Free Landfill days have been rescheduled due to the rain causing a "muddy soup" outside. Williston - Commissioner Tate Cymbaluk resigned, yesterday, after serving 16 years on the commission. While no reason was given at the regular meeting, the correspondence in which Mayor Klug mentioned at the meeting was made public today (May 14, 2025). The letter to Mayor Klug read: "Honorable Mayor Klug, It has been an honor and a privelage to serve the Williston Community for the past 15 years.
