London-based creative agency, isobel, is today launching the first instalment of leading fuel brand, JET’s iconic Keep on Moving campaign for 2023 — as part of a six-week programme of activity. The two films which launch the campaign were created entirely in CGI to demonstrate the simple idea that JET is here to help drivers get back on the road. The first film features a retro blue convertible as it glides along a picture-perfect countryside road on a sun-drenched afternoon.

The truth is that everyone lies. On average, we start telling fibs around age four, and it’s actually a positive sign of our development. Effective deceit indicates that we now recognise people have diverse thoughts, beliefs and experiences. Psychologists call this ‘theory of mind‘, and a study by Talwar and Lee (2008) revealed that children who lied skillfully displayed advanced theory of mind, refined social interaction skills and higher social cognitive development.

How many times do we respond to the question ‘how are you?’ with those two famous words: ‘I’m fine’? It’s a universally acknowledged response that actually means nothing at all. How many of us actually feel fine? Which other adjectives would better describe our true emotions? Overwhelmed? Hopeful? Anxious? Grateful? Toxic positivity is rampant. Our lies have infiltrated our vocabulary like a poisonous infestation and we’re oblivious to their existence.

From personal experience, I try to avoid lying as much as possible. Lying is only an option for me when I mess around with friends and family and to get out of uncomfortable situations, such as when I don’t want to hang out due to tiredness or myself not enjoying someone else’s company. FriendsContrary to what some of my peers would say about themselves, truth be told, they lie a lot. I am by no means an angel, but lying about unnecessary stuff and daily is not necessary.
