It won't just be classic cars along Okanagan Lake in Penticton this Saturday — check out an antique boat show as well. Presented by the Western Canadian Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, the event will see many unique boats on display at the Penticton Yacht Club. Check out mahogany runabouts and classic fiberglass boats on display dockside, and chat with the owners about their watercraft. Plus, there will be a vote for the favourite vote.

The Cops for Kids Jail & Bail fundraiser this spring in Penticton raised more than $10,000. On May 29 at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre, good-humoured “arrests,” took place, involving local businesses and citizens who then had to fundraise to be set free. "The event sparked laughter, camaraderie, and heartfelt generosity throughout the city asChief Justice of Shenanigans Cary Schneiderat, handed down sentences to those brought before him inkangaroo court," reads a press release issued Friday.

Occupants and possessions at a problematic homeless encampment in Penticton must be gone by next week. The "Fairview encampment," as it has become colloquially known, has been growing in the Fairview Road and Highway 97 area along the Penticton Channel for months. It is located on provincial land, which has proved a headache for city officials whose hands have been tied as to options to deal with the hazardous situation, and help those in it.

A South Okanagan woman has been sentenced to 40 days in jail after assaulting a stranger while already on bail facing a murder charge. In Penticton court Thursday, the accused person — who will be referred to as A.P. in this article due to a publication ban protecting her identity — learned her sentence for a November 2024 "road rage" incident.
