AKRON — Two Stark County softball teams take the field today in the Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournament at Firestone Stadium. Perry is first up, with Jackson on deck later in the afternoon. Neither team is a league champ and both can be considered surprises to make it this far. Perry is on a Cinderella run, arriving at the Division II state semifinals with a sub-.500 record after playing a tough regular-season schedule in the Federal League.
