The names of three men who were killed in a rock climbing accident in Okanogan County have been released. The Okanogan County Coroner's Office says 36-year-old Oleksander Martynenko of Bellevue, 48-year-old Vishnu Irigireddy of Renton, and 63-year-old Tim Nguyen - also of Renton, all died after falling hundreds of feet while attempting to descend a steep gully in the area of the North Early Winters Spire about 16 miles west of Mazama on Saturday evening.

Two Oregon residents are behind bars in Central Washington after allegedly leading police on a vehicle pursuit in a stolen car with two young children who were in their custody illegally. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) says it unfolded at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday after troopers were contacted by police in Oregon about a stolen vehicle associated with an AMBER Alert out of Southwest Portland.

Three people are dead after a climbing accident in remote Okanogan County. The Okanogan County Sheriff's Office says it happened at around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday in the area of North Early Winters Spire just off State Route 20 about 16 miles west of Mazama. Undersheriff Dave Yarnell says the party of four climbers, all from Renton, were descending a steep gully when a critical section of their climbing apparatus failed.

The Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & People (MMIWP) Task Force is releasing a toolkit for families and friends to use in the event someone they know goes missing. The Task Force says the families and friends of missing people are often their best advocates for being found, and the MMIWP's Families Subcommittee spent over three years coordinating with the loved ones of missing or murdered people to develop the toolkit through listening sessions.

One person is dead and two others have injuries following a two-vehicle collision near the Grant/Benton County Line last Friday (May 9). The Washington State Patrol says it happened at around 11 a.m. on State Route 24 near the south side of the Vernita Bridge when a sports car driven by 68-year-old James Sandall of Yakima made a left turn onto the highway and was struck by an oncoming pickup truck driven by 66-year-old Rhonda Procell of Bovill, Idaho.

A Yakima man has injuries following a single-vehicle accident in Kittitas County early Monday. The Washington State Patrol says it happened at around 5:20 a.m. on State Route 821 about eight miles south of Ellensburg when 61-year-old Mario A. Garza lost control of the tractor trailer semi-truck he was driving, struck a jersey barrier, and rolled. Garza was transported to Kittitas Valley Healthcare Hospital in Ellensburg with unspecified injuries.
14-Year-Old Student Facing Charges For Allegedly Bringing BB Gun To School

A 14-year-old girl is facing possible charges after police say she was found in possession of a potentially-dangerous weapon at school. The Moses Lake Police Department says the girl was discovered with a BB gun on Tuesday at Frontier Middle School, where she is a student. Police Capt. Jeff Sursely says the girl told investigators she brought the weapon on campus to protect herself after being bullied by several kids last weekend.
