Jasmine Josetta Swain, 35, of Alpine, was arrested by Talladega Police for first degree assault following the incident at the Domino's Pizza on Battle Street. State and local officials responded to an oil spill at the Talladega Municipal Airport Thursday and Friday, according to city public information officer Mary Sood. "A 1,000 gallon oil tank at the airport ruptured, resulting in an estimated 700 gallons of oil being released," Sood said in a prepared statement.

Thursday night, Talladega's Ray Miller, 90, became only the 20th Alabamian ever to be inducted into the Lions Club Hall of Fame. Miller has been active in the Lions Club since 1962, and has served in every leadership position in the organization, up to District Governor. The Caring Foundation, a charitable arm of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, contributed $75,000 to the Alabama Institute For Deaf and Blind Foundation Thursday to go toward the construction of a greenhouse at the Joe Tom Armbrester Agricultural Center. According to AIDB Foundation Chairman Mike Royer, the Caring Foundation has donated almost half a million dollars to AIDB related projects since 1995, including funding an on campus health center, various outreach programs and other programs.
