With rain in the forecast the old wives’ tale stating, “If it rains on Easter Sunday, it will rain every Sunday for seven weeks” has been brought up. It’s usually something that comes up as Easter approaches. So is there any truth to this folklore?

Even in Illinois, our tornado count is quickly approaching out yearly average and peak tornado season has just begun. According to the Storm Prediction Center there have been 492 preliminary tornado reports across the country in 2025.
