Town & City Management Ltd has submitted an application to Bradford Council for permission to cut two metres of branches off a row of trees next to the visitors’ car park at the Limefield Mill development on Wood Street in Crossflatts. The application says the trees are popular with birds, and visitors to the site often find droppings on their cars. It says the tree works will remove this “nuisance".

A £2.1 billion transport settlement for West Yorkshire announced on Wednesday includes £300 million for three new bus stations – Bradford, Huddersfield and Wakefield, as well as improvements to bus infrastructure. Although the need for a new bus station in the city centre had previously been discussed, today’s announcement marks the first time that funding has been allocated for a new station.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced the huge funding allocation for West Yorkshire, and the cash will enable work on the long planned tram project to begin in 2028. Other projects to benefit include a new bus station to replace the ageing Bradford Interchange and new measures to make the A641, which runs from Wyke to Brighouse, safer for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as increasing bus lanes on the route.

And now a legal notice ordering the clearance of the site by later this summer has been issued. The containers have been in place on the site – next to Peel park – for several months. Last month a retrospective planning application to use the site for storage was refused by Bradford Council.

Feversham Primary Academy, Barkerend, is expected to save up to £13,000 a year in energy bills, with the money being reinvested into the school. The school is one of the first schools in Great British Energy’s rooftop solar rollout – a £180m Government scheme.
