The Aldi store on Gresley Road, Keighley, closed earlier this year when the supermarket chain re-located to a much larger, purpose built unit on the former Alexandra Mills site. Now a planning application has been submitted to Bradford Council for the reopening of the empty unit as a new supermarket. The plans have been submitted by Worldwide Foods, a supermarket chain with branches on Leeds Road in Bradford, Leeds, Manchester, and Oldham.

Cityview is part of Bradford AP Academy, and operated by Exceed Academies Trust. It officially opened on Thursday in the former District PRU site off Anerley Street. The facility offers short-term placements to young people aged 11 to 16 years from secondary schools across the district who are at risk of being excluded because of their behaviour. The school was opened by Bradford City Women’s player Monika Stube.

The Dockfield footbridge (Image: Debbie Davies) A WELL used footbridge may need to be “completely replaced” after an emergency closure. The Dockfield footbridge in Baildon was suddenly closed by Bradford Council earlier this month, and has left walkers having to take major diversions. The Council has said the closure was due to “significant safety concerns” that required the bridge to be closed on short notice.
