AbstractAnxiety is a psychiatric non-motor symptom of Parkinson's that can appear in the prodromal period, prior to significant loss of brainstem dopamine neurons and motor symptoms. Parkinson's-related anxiety affects females more than males, despite the greater prevalence of Parkinson's in males. How stress, anxiety and Parkinson's are related and the basis for a sex-specific impact of stress in Parkinson's are not clear.

INTRODUCTIONLeucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2), a multi-functional kinase, has been the subject of intense study since it was discovered that inherited, autosomal dominant mutations that increase its kinase activity also increase the risk for Parkinson’s (PD). Elevated LRRK2 levels or kinase activity, in the absence of mutation, also occur in patients with idiopathic PD (1, 2), suggesting that the enzyme is part of a common disease pathology.

(KKCO) -Winter Weather Advisories :High Country Snow:Most of Thursday’s snowmakers will stay around the central and north-central portion of the state, including parts of the Sawatch mountains. The movement is eastward throughout the day. Snowfall started late Wednesday night into Thursday morning and will continue throughout the day. Some of our mountain passes can experience the most amount of snowfall.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -Upcoming weather maker:Significant changes will arrive in the state over the next couple of days. Two cold fronts and low-pressure systems are stationed west of the state and, tracking eastward, will bring gusty winds, a significant temperature drop, and rain and snow. On Wednesday, gusty winds will occur throughout most of the day. The valleys can experience wind gusts reaching up to 40 miles per hour. In the high country, winds can top 50 to 60 miles per hour.
