Columbia — A Columbia woman has been charged with trespassing and armed criminal action after allegedly attacking a resident and using racial slurs at Parkside Manor in Columbia. According to the probable cause statement, Kelly Smith pulled her vehicle behind the victim's car as he was backing up. The victim, Charles Coats, told officers that he did not know Smith prior to the incident and got out of his vehicle to ask her to move her vehicle, which Coats claimed was blocking his.

Rolla, Mo — A Rolla has been charged with child abuse and neglect after admitting to spanking a child she was babysitting. According to court documents, the victim's mother noticed marks on the child's buttocks after preparing him for a bath. The child told his mother that the babysitter, Tiffany Schlueter, had struck him. During an interview with Rolla Police, Schlueter admitted to officers that she had struck the child on the buttocks with a metal spatula.
