CLEVELAND — For some, it was an email that arrived in their inbox at 9:30 p.m. on a Friday night. Earlier this month, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) issued termination notices to at least a dozen different area nonprofits in Northeast Ohio for grants that the institution had previously awarded. Those notices potentially impact more than $345,000 worth of grant funding to the area. Grants that were issued to help fund concerts, festivals, educational programming and art exhibitions.

Every year for Memorial Day weekend, this Hudson resident and U.S. Army veteran enlists the help of friends and strangers to plant as many flags as they can, all in an effort to honor those killed protecting the United States. CLEVELAND — After years of unsuccessful attempts to pass the Ohio Senate, legislators and sports officials across the state are hoping to see increased penalties if someone assaults a referee. The bill, currently sponsored by Rep. Joe Miller and Rep. Bill Roemer, has successfully passed the Ohio House three times since first being introduced in 2019. On all three of those instances, it failed to pass in the Ohio Senate, let alone make it to Governor Mike DeWine's desk.

But the former ODOT facility in Burton Village is in the midst of a transformation, becoming a joint venture between neighbor Preston Superstore and the Berkshire Local School District. The 5-acre facility, which consists of several buildings, will feature opportunities for students to learn from Preston mechanics in vehicle repairs and diesel maintenance.
